Doug Pearsall is a mixed media artist residing in Southern California. His works have appeared at California African American Museum, Loft at Liz’s, Pomona Valley Arts Association, Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery, Torrance Art Museum, Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Calendar, Angels City Brewery, TAG Gallery and elsewhere. His art has won awards and he was one of sixteen artists selected to create an installation for the 2018 Los Angeles County Fair/ Millard Sheets Gallery exhibit titled ALT 66. That work-titled “In The Pursuit of Dreams” focused on (The Great) African American Migration from the rural south to the urban settings of Los Angeles. The show was viewed by over 100,000 visitors and also liked by numerous Instagram posts. He is currently building new bodies of work based in his interest in expanding the concept of collage through combining elements that are initially dissimilar but combine to reveal unexpected correlations of materials, themes, time & space. Doug’s recent work is influenced by Mark Bradford and Fran Siegel among other classic and contemporary artists
